Many players have made a name for themselves at a young age in football history. 

However, being regarded as the best in the world at such a young age is extremely rare,

with only a few achieving this feat.

Those who have received such recognition often become legendary figures in football history.

 

Pelé, who participated in the World Cup for Brazil at the age of 18, scored in the final, leading his team to victory.

Diego Maradona, who won the South American Player of the Year award at the age of 16, followed a similar path.

 

For 10 or even 15 years, 

two players dominated the pinnacle of world football, splitting the Ballon d'Or between them. 

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo also made their mark on the world stage at the young age of 18. 

Similarly, the player we will discuss today, Kylian Mbappe, followed the same trajectory.

 

In the 2016-2017 season, when Mbappe was just 17, AS Monaco took Europe by storm. 

They won Ligue 1 by defeating the dominant Paris Saint-Germain and reached the Champions League semifinals, heralding the arrival of a golden generation. 

Key players at that time included Bernardo Silva, Thomas Lemar, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Fabinho, and Benjamin Mendy, who all eventually attracted attention from big clubs and were signed away. 

Silva and Mendy went to Manchester City, Bakayoko to Chelsea, Fabinho to Liverpool, and Lemar was called to Atletico Madrid. 

Among all these players, the hottest prospect was the 17-year-old Mbappe.

Mbappe, a key player in that golden generation, led the attack as a left winger. 

His speed and dazzling dribbling skills baffled defenders, 

and his bold goal-scoring ability was impressive for someone so young. 

Paris Saint-Germain, the strongest team in France, 

couldn't let such a player slip away. 

Although it was initially a loan, PSG eventually spent a staggering 150 billion won on the teenage player. 

Few doubted this expenditure because Mbappe had already demonstrated his worth.

At a larger club with a higher caliber of teammates, Mbappe only improved, 

never showing less than he did during his Monaco days.

His performance earned him a call-up to the French national team for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Despite the abundance of talented French players, Mbappe held his ground in the competition for starting positions.

He started in several matches, forming a fantastic attacking trio with Olivier Giroud and Antoine Griezmann. The simple yet effective pattern of Giroud creating space, Mbappe penetrating, and Griezmann passing helped France march towards victory, ultimately winning the World Cup.

At that time, Mbappe was just 19 years old. 

He became the first teenager since Pelé to score in a World Cup final and the first teenager since Brazil's Ronaldo to win the World Cup.

Over the next four years, Mbappe continued to play a crucial role for both Paris Saint-Germain and the French national team. 

In his seven seasons with PSG, he scored an impressive 256 goals, becoming the club's all-time leading scorer. 

Despite falling short in the Champions League, PSG remained unbeatable in the domestic league with Mbappe in the squad.

By the time of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Mbappe, now 23, had further upgraded his skills. 

He added experience and composure to his already impressive speed, dribbling, and shooting. 

More poised in front of goal and capable of utilizing his teammates effectively, Mbappe became a nightmare for opposing defenders. 

His performance in the World Cup was reflected in his records. 

Despite losing to Messi's Argentina in the final, Mbappe scored a hat-trick, 

leading France to their second consecutive World Cup final and earning the Golden Boot.

And this summer, after a long transfer saga, Mbappe finally joined Real Madrid, signaling the start of a new chapter in his career.

Having won league titles, domestic cups, and a World Cup, 

only two pieces of the puzzle remain for Mbappe: a European Championship and a Champions League title.

 With France always being strong contenders for the Euros, and now joining a team synonymous with Champions League success, the stage is set for Mbappe to complete his legacy.
